The time has come for a burning season in the grassroots

Let's talk figures: if you ran your household with $21,000 in income, but you spent $38,200, and you had a household debt of $140,000, do you think your creditors would give you a debt limit increase?  If you ran your business with $210,000 in revenues, and expenditures of $382,000, with $1.4 million in debt, your creditors wouldn't give you the time of day, especially if you didn't have a plan in place to deal with your spending.

That's our parliament of crony prostitutes in a nutshell. Two years ago, when the debt dealing started, they were running up $3.82 trillion in spending against $2.1 trillion in revenues against $14 trillion in debt. That debt is now $17 trillion, and the boldest recommendation they can make is a 1% reduction in spending.
If you ran your business in a way that resulted in a complete shutdown due to your inability to talk to your partners, and you laid off your employees while the issues were being ironed out, would you give your employees a raise upon their return?  That's what our parliament of crony puppets did, in addition to the $174,000 they gave to Sen. Frank Lautenberg's $56 million widow, and the $2.9 billion they gave to Mitch McConnell and Dick Durbin for their dam.

We've been giving these crony prostitutes our votes and our money for decades, and they've only piled up more debt and more government.  They've given us an NSA that treats us like members of al Qaeda, an IRS that targets our political groups to sideline us in elections, and an economy where success depends on political favors rather than merit.  And to top it all off, these crony puppets betrayed us by blaming us for a shutdown they authored. They called us crazy extremists.

They want to rip out our heart and soul, and replace it with cynicism. They want us to give up, to be discouraged by this.  Well, we're not discouraged, we're enraged. It's time to channel that rage into 2014.  The crusade to take America back begins today, and we know we have just 18 allies in the Senate. It's time to send in reinforcements and take out the crony lapdogs.

The "Law of the Land" fallacy

To all of those that make the 'law of the land claim' in regards to ACA:

  • If it is the law of the land, how do you explain away the Executive branch missing 41 of 82 deadlines that it detailed?
  • How do you justify their use of Executive fiat, in direct violation of the the Law and the Constitution, to decide to wave the Employer Mandate for one year?
  • How do you justify the Office of Personnel Management determining that it could grant a 71% subsidy to Congress and Congressional Staffers, even though the law specifically directs Congress to take part in the Obamacare exchanges and their salaries exceed the limits to qualify them for subsidies?

The Supreme Court didn't determine the Constitutionality of ACA. They rewrote it to make it Constitutional, acting in violation of the Constitution by exercising legislative powers that are granted to Congress.

One step further:

  • Slavery was Law.
  • Segregation was Law
  • Prohibition was a Constitutional Amendment
  • Women prohibited from voting was law
  • Japanese Internment was law
  • The Immigration laws Being ignored by President Obama Are laws
  • Defense of Marriage Act was settled Law.

A bad law is a bad law.  Just because it's law doesn't mean that we have to be stuck with it forever!

WORDS OBAMA WISHES NO ONE WOULD REMEMBER

His very own words, proving for a fact, that he is a liar. It amazes me that the Republican Party never mentions it, the News Media never mentions it. It's almost like they themselves are part of it. There's a lot I would like to say here but I won't. I'll let Obama tell the story in his own words.

 Obama's Own Words:

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

Compare it to what he's saying today. Makes it pretty simple doesn't it?

FAQ: Are Barrett rifles legal to own or possess in my state?

From: http://www.barrett.net/support/faq

Are Barrett rifles legal to own or possess in my state?
That depends. You may live in a jurisdiction that restricts caliber or magazine capacity. First, we recommend that you elect politicians who will change those laws. If you can’t do that, then we recommend that you move to an area that obeys the United States Constitution. In any case, we don’t offer legal advice on what you can or can’t own. Check with your local law enforcement official.

Here's another good one from one of their prices lists (http://www.barrett.net/pdfs/Price-List.pdf):
The California Legislature has banned the .50 BMG from its good citizens, violating their rights and the constitution of our republic. Therefore, Barrett will not sell to or service any California government agencies.

Ya gotta love Ronnie Barrett for standing up for what's right!

More taxes are not the answer

From my cousin via Facebook:

The more we are taxed the less we spend. Stop the handouts and make people succeed first. There is no motivation in USA to work hard anymore because the nation is setup(now) to give you a nice little bit of handouts to keep you moving. We as Americans need to get back to what made this country the great country it is - hard work. Whether that be in a factory, cutting grass, tool and die, or frying fries. We are not above those things however we seem to moving towards thinking we are! If you don't think we are - ask a teenager about working at McD's or cutting grass during the summer for money! They will tell you - Not a chance! Trust me - I educate them for 9 hours a day 5 days a week. They have sense of entitlement and it's only getting worse.

I think he said it very well.

Divided Congress Bodes Well for Economy

If the recent past is any indication, the American economy will prosper in the next few years with the new Congress divided between the two parties.

From http://www.aei.org/article/102715:

“Since 1970, the levers of federal government — the White House, Senate and House of Representatives — have been in the hands of one party, whether Republican or Democrat, 30 percent of the time,” observes Bloomberg News columnist Kevin Hassett.  “By most any measure, the U.S. economy has been healthier the other 70 percent of the time.”
Since 1981, median GDP has increased 3.3 percent in years when Washington was divided — as it will be now with Republicans in control of the House and Democrats controlling the Senate and White House — and 2.8 percent when it was unified.
Median unemployment has been 6.1 percent under one-party rule since 1970, and 5.7 percent when rule is divided. Since 1993, the spread is even greater — 6 percent compared to 4.9 percent.
Divided rule has proved a boon for the stock market as well. Since 1970, the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index has risen at a median rate of 13.5 percent per year when Washington is divided, and just 9 percent when it is unified. Since 1993, the spread is again greater — 19.5 percent compared to 9 percent.
Hassett, director of economic policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute and an adviser to John McCain in the 2008 presidential election, offers two possible explanations for the phenomenon:
  1. “Under the ‘politicians are idiots’ view, divided governments tend to be gridlocked, and gridlock is good,” he writes. “A paralyzed government is a boon to the economy because the changes that politicians contrive tend to be harmful.
  2. “Under the ‘politicians are sensible’ view, divided governments produce better lawmaking because only sensible policies can achieve the necessary bipartisan support. When government is controlled by one party, common sense is cast aside as those in power use their muscle to reward friends and punish enemies.”

Wanna bet the $200 million a day is real?

It's all over the news today: Obama's trip to India will cost $200 Million a day.  Of course, Obama and all his supporters are saying "A Gross Over-Estimation", "the numbers reported have no basis in reality".  Let's see what actually happens.  I for one won't be surprised to find the real number are actually close to $200 Million a day.  Of course this wouldn't be the first time that Obama has claimed that something isn't true when it really is.  Think ObamaCare...

You Scare Me - An Open Letter to President Obama - Lou Pritchett

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA by Lou Pritchett

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core..

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Explaining ObamaCare To Stupid

"ObamaCare has been one of the most widely discussed and debated pieces of legislation in our lifetimes. The public has a pretty good idea about what's in the bill, and they don't like it.

Yes, ObamaCare needs to be explained to Stupid--and I suggest they start with the Democrats who voted for it."

The second amendment is my permit to carry...

Ted says it best:

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

What's so hard to understand about this?

URGENT ALERT: ANTI-GUN CONGRESSMAN TO HOLD HEARINGS ADVOCATING FEDERAL CLAMP DOWN ON GUN SHOWS

From the Illinois State Rifle Association:

Rabidly anti-gun Congressman Mike Quigley (IL-5) will be holding a public hearing on a bill he has co-sponsored that would put gun shows under the supervision of the federal government. The bill, HR 2324, would subject gun show hosts to a slew of pointless, time consuming regulations in addition to heaping all sorts of red tape and record keeping requirements on gun show hosts and participants. The ultimate goal of Quigley’s bill is to make hosting a gun show too much of a hassle to endure. As a result, this bill would quickly make gun shows disappear all together.

It should be noted that Congressman Mark Kirk (IL-10) is another co-sponsor of this slap to the face of the 2nd Amendment.

THINGS YOU NEED TO DO TO SAVE GUN SHOWS:

1. Attend the hearing on HR 2324. The hearing will take place on Thursday, August 19, at 9:00 AM at the Dirksen Federal Building, 219 South Dearborn, Room 2510, Chicago. Be advised that the Dirksen building is a secure facility. You will have to go through a metal detector to get in. So, make sure your pockets are empty of anything that could get you in trouble. Do not do or say anything that could get you in trouble. When you get to the hearing, politely express your disapproval of HR 2324.

2. Contact your federal representative and politely tell him or her that you are a law-abiding firearm owner and that you oppose HR 2324 and that you would like them to vote NO on the bill should it reach the House floor.  (Find your Representative: IL State Board of Elections)

3. Circulate this alert to all your gun owning friends and family. Tell them to show up at the hearing as well.

4. Please post this alert to all internet blogs and bulletin boards to which you belong.

5. Donate generously to the ISRA.

Remember, gun control is a disease – and you’re the cure!

Governor Quinn Steps Up Attacks On Law-Abiding Firearm Owners

From the Illinois State Rifle Association:

CHICAGO, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the ISRA Political Victory Fund (ISRA-PVF):

Law-abiding Illinois firearm owners are under a renewed attack by Gov. Pat Quinn's re-election campaign. After receiving the endorsement of a radical gun control group last week, Quinn's campaign is now the apparent mastermind of a plan to place a referendum on the November ballot that would call for the banning of a wide variety of popular hunting and target firearms.

Petition documents filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections show the title of the proposed referendum as being "Petition to Ban the Sale on Semi-Automatic and Assault Weapons." Notarized signatures on over 100 pages of petitions show one "Maz Jackson" as being the petition circulator. Maz Jackson is a top field operative for the Quinn gubernatorial re-election campaign.

"It appears that Pat Quinn plans to attack hunters and sportsmen from every angle," commented ISRA-PVF spokesman, Richard Pearson. "First he throws in with the likes of gun control extremists Jim and Sarah Brady, and now his campaign staff is circulating petitions seeking to ban most of the privately owned firearms in the state. Once again, Pat Quinn has shown himself to be more in step with Mayor Daley and the Chicago power structure than he is with the vast majority of Illinois citizens."

The ISRA-PVF is a political action committee affiliated with the Illinois State Rifle Association. Donations to the ISRA-PVF are not tax deductible. A copy of our report is available for a fee from the Illinois State Board of Elections, Springfield, IL

Old Sea Story

There's an old sea story about a ship's Captain who inspected his sailors, and afterward told the first mate that his men smelled bad.

The Captain suggested perhaps it would help if the sailors would change underwear occasionally.

The first mate responded, "Aye, aye sir, I'll see to it immediately!"

The first mate went straight to the sailors berth deck and announced, "The Captain thinks you guys smell bad and wants you to change your underwear." He continued, "Pittman, you change with Jones, McCarthy, you change with Witkowski, and Brown, you change with Schultz."

THE MORAL OF THE STORY:

Someone may come along and promise "Change", but don't count on things smelling any better.

Written by a 15 yr. old School Kid in Ohio - New Pledge of Allegiance

While this is already all over the place, it still deserves repeating!

New Pledge of Allegiance (TOTALLY AWESOME!)

Since the Pledge of Allegiance & The Lords Prayer are not allowed in Schools anymore because the word 'God' is mentioned...  A Kid in Ohio wrote the attached...

NEW School prayer :

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this, please pass this on.
Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'

Quote of the day

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.  The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.  When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that, my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.  You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." - Dr. Adrian Rogers
