Chavez Dares US on Terror List Proposal

Here's a good one:

President Hugo Chavez dared the U.S. on Friday to put Venezuela on a list of countries accused of supporting terrorism

Since the supporter of terrorism has offered, then why not? I'm surprised that they're not already on the list.

Democrats Pre-Iraq War View on WMD's and Terrorism

THIS COUNTRY NEEDS TO RUN THIS VIDEO OVER AND OVER UNTIL ALL OF US FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON!!!

The most despicable acts of deceit ongoing in this country are the lies and hypocrisy perpetrated by the democrats seen in this short video.

They are so blinded by their hate for our President and the necessities of their party they have betrayed their own consciences.

This should be seen by everyone in America! Please pass it on.

Here's a video compilation you definitely won't see on main stream media.

The next time you hear the expression 'Bush's war' remember this note that there's no 'opinion', just direct video which deserves wide distribution.

The Movie our Lawmakers Don't Want You to See

Here's a movie unlike any other in recent memory. It's called "Border", and it's the one movie the open-bordered leadership in our nation doesn''t want you--or anyone else to see.

Why?

Because it tells a true story. It's not Hollywood fiction with a happy ending. "Borders" is a raw firsthand video record of one man's journey to our borders and the unspeakable horrors that he found.

"Get off the sofa and do something about it!"

Those were the words that started the life-changing journey for Southern California resident Chris Burgard. Tired of hearing his complaints about the immigration crisis, Chris's wife challenged him to take action.

He did, and the result of his year-long journey is "Border".

Here you'll discover the true level of lawlessness at our borders-- the rape trees, and the death. You'll experience the frustration being felt by ranchers, farmers and citizens who are desperately trying to hang on to their land being overrun by vicious gangs and drug smugglers.

And most shocking of all, you'll witness drug mules being escorted across the border into the U.S. by Mexican military!

Our leaders don't want you to know how serious this situation has become. They prefer we all remain ignorant to the real truth--the truth that Chris Burgard captured on film--the truth that I guarantee will make your blood boil!

ISRA Alert - Two Anti-Gun Bills Pass Committee

ISRA Alert:
VOICE YOUR OPPOSITION TO TWO GUN CONTROL BILLS

A pair of gun control bills passed out of the Executive Committee today:

HERE IS WHAT YOU MUST DO TO SAVE YOUR GUNS

1. Contact your State Representative and politely tell him/her that you are opposed to HB4357 and HB4393 and that you would like for him/her to vote against the bill when it comes up. Message to Congress: Build the Fence!

I just signed a petition demanding our leaders in Congress to build the
border fence--as it was promised to us. I'm asking you to join me in
signing.

http://www.grassfire.org/242/petition.asp?PID=15635887&NID=1

After passing the Secure Fence Act last year, certain members of
Congress "gutted" the legislation and along with it any hope that a real
fence would be constructed.

A double-layered fence was promised to the American people, and I am
holding leadership accountable and demanding they make good on their
promise.

Two bills are currently in Congress that seek to reform and reinstate
the Secure Fence Act. I support these bills, and urge you to do so as
well by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.org/242/petition.asp?PID=15635887&NID=1

Thanks for joining with me.

The Revenge Candidate?

By Monica Crowley:

Here are five semi-counterintuitive reasons why McCain will be giving the Big Speech in Minneapolis on Labor Day:

1. While conservatives were off flirting with every Rudy, Fred, and Huck, the Nice Guy, Mitt, waited patiently, holding a bouquet. By the time we realized the Flash in the Pan Guys weren't the ones to bring home to mom, it was too late for the Nice Guy. And the Bad Boy already had the ticket to the Big Dance.

Earmarks special on PBS tonight (2/22/08)

Here is an update on the "earmarks" issue

-Bob

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, President, Grassfire.org Alliance

2/22/2008

Dear Robert,

I want to thank you for adding your name to our latest petition calling for an end to earmarking in Congress.

My IT staff reports that citizens are signing the petition at a rate of nearly 250 signatures per hour!

Robert, without question this is a critical issue for the American people. That's why I wanted to alert all those who have signed the petition to a program that is airing on PBS tonight (February 22) focusing on "earmarking."

Bill Moyers Journal and the PBS series Expose, profiles Seattle Times reporters as they "follow the money," the flow of billions of dollars siphoned from DC to fund "pet projects."

When: Friday, February 22, 2008
Time: 9 p.m. on PBS (check your local listings)

Click here to check the times in your area:

http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/about/airdates.html.

To watch a special preview, click here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SYhonCtpP4.

++Action Item--Alert your friends

Regardless of political affiliation, earmarks affect us all. That's why we are urging members of our team to forward this important update to 25-30 friends and family. Encourage them to watch the Moyers special and sign our petition to end earmarks by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.org/96/petition.asp?PID=15588536

Earmarks have become a symbol of the culture of the widespread corruption on Capitol Hill, and as citizens, we must work diligently to bring a close to this era of dishonesty.

Thanks again for taking quick action with us. Help us spread the word by forwarding this message today.

Steve

P.S: Grassfire has learned that following the broadcast, Seattle Times reporters will answer questions from viewers at the Moyers Blog at:

http://www.pbs.org/moyers.

The Unilateral Disarmament Democrats: Putting Trial Lawyers Ahead of Your Family's Safety

From: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=25105

Newt Gingrich writes:

It's hard to think of an action that has put as many lives at risk as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D.-Calif.) declaration of unilateral disarmament in the War on Terror last week.
The rest (and the comments) are well worth reading. Another example of the damage done to our security by the "friendly" democrats...

How to Keep Reagan Out of Office

From: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=25115

Ann Coulter writes:

How did we end up with the mainstream media picking the Republican candidate for president?

It isn't the early primaries, it isn't that we allow Democrats to vote in many of our primaries, and it isn't that the voters are stupid. All of that was true or partially true in 1980 -- and we still got Ronald Reagan.

We didn't get Ronald Reagan this year not just because there's never going to be another Reagan. We will never again get another Reagan because Reagan wouldn't run for office under the current campaign-finance regime.

The rest (and the comments) are well worth reading. Another example of the damage done by McCain...

ISRA Alert - Update on McHenry County

ISRA Alert:
Update on McHenry County

McHenry County - Full Board Vote Postponed
McHenry County Sportsman's Association President Lee Lexow was notified that the McHenry County Board has pulled the 2nd Amendment Resolution from the agenda on Tuesday, February 19 out of respect for the mourning families. They will be taking up the issue at a date to be determined. Lee will still be at the Lakemoor Gun Show on Sunday as previously noted.

Please do not go to the Board Meeting on Tuesday, February 19, expecting a board vote on the 2nd Amendment Resolution.

ISRA Alert - County Resolutions

ISRA Alert:
County Resolutions on the Move!

Attention LaSalle County & McHenry County Firearms Owners!

LaSalle County - Committee Action
The LaSalle County Legislation and Rules Committee met on January 17 and discussed the resolution supporting the 2nd Amendment that was brought to them by an ISRA member.

That committee is seeking citizen input in order to help them make a decision. In an article appearing in the January 18 Ottawa Times, two committee members came out in support of an Assault Weapons Ban. George Gruenwald (D-LaSalle) voiced support of an AW ban as did Tom Ganiere (D-Ottawa) who said that he did not feel that the Framers ever envisioned “assault weapons.”

The next meeting of the Legislation and Rules committee is Feb 19 at 9:00 am. If you live in LaSalle County, please contact the committee members below and express your support for the Resolution and ask them to forward it to the full board for consideration.
Don Jordan D-Streator 815-672-5879
Allen Erbrederis R-Somonauk 815-498-9675
Tom Walsh D-Ottawa 815-434-6750
Dan Flanagan D-Mendota 815-539-9028
Richard Scott D-Ottawa 815-433-4962
Tom Ganiere D-Ottawa 815-433-4457
George Gruenwald D-La Salle 815-223-4507

McHenry County - Full Board Vote
McHenry County Sportsman's Association President Lee Lexow and Rich Young (both are ISRA members!) have worked hard to introduce the 2nd Amendment Resolution in McHenry County.

The Law & Justice Committee of the McHenry County Board passed the 2nd Amendment Resolution out of committee on a 6-0-0 vote. It now heads for a full board vote on Tuesday, February 19, at 7:00pm, at the McHenry County Courthouse Annex, 2200 N Seminary Ave, Woodstock, IL 60098.

There is expected to be a number of anti-gunners at the board meeting. Firearms owners who live in McHenry County are encouraged to attend and show support for the 2nd Amendment.

Because there is a large turnout expected, Lee Lexow has announced a meeting at the Lakemoor Gun Show on Sunday, February 17 at 10:00am, at the table staffed by McHenry County Sportsman's Association. The purpose of the meeting is to organize and coach people that would like to speak at the County Board Meeting. McHenry County residents are invited to the meeting to meet with Lee Lexow and their fellow firearms owners.

All Illinois gun owners are invited to join in Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD) in Springfield in 2008. This is an annual event where the members directly lobby their representatives in the Illinois House and Senate.

We will meet in the Grand Ballroom of the Springfield Hilton at 12:00 noon for registration. We will have a legislative briefing, then we will all proceed to the Capitol Building to locate and talk with our representatives. We will have a reception at the Illinois State Library Auditorium from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm. We are urging all participants to stay until the end of the reception. This is a very important part of the day, as the state's legislators have been invited to attend.

Please join us for Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day, you won't regret going.

An IGOLD Message To You From Valinda Rowe:

Mark that day on your calendar, schedule a vacation day, personal day, whatever you have to do to be in Springfield for Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day!!

With the Illinois General Assembly back in session the "assault weapons ban" and all other anti-gun owner bills from 2007 are back in play again in 2008. The Illinois State Police are setting their own rules on FOID card requirements bringing a whole new meaning to the words "subject to police power" in the Illinois State Constitution. Cook County is trying to expand Chicago style gun control to the whole county plus trying to shut down all firearm retailers and gun shows in Cook County - first Chicago, then all of Cook County, and then the state. The Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence has hit the ground running for the 2008 session of the General Assembly pushing for more restrictions on Illinois gun owners instead of criminals with guns!

Now is not the time to sit idly by and wring our hands. NOW is the time to show up at the Illinois State Capitol and let our voices be heard - the voices of Illinois Gun owners - loud clear voices that we have had enough infringements on our rights - we'll budge no further. In fact, not only do we stand our ground, we want back ground that's been lost. Illinois is one of only two states left that does not have a Right to Carry law and that is unacceptable to the law abiding citizens of Illinois.

A fleet of charter buses will be arriving from all corners of the state - to reserve a seat on the bus and avoid all the hassles of driving and finding a parking place just select from one of the buses listed on the left.

Don't miss this monumental movement in Illinois firearm history! Join together with firearm owners from all over the state at IGOLD and let your voice heard!

When &
Where:
Begins Tuesday, March 11, 2008, 12:00pm
Starting Location:
12:00 pm - Springfield Hilton, Grand Ballroom

respectfully make our presence known in
committee hearings that are in session

Parking: Metered on-street parking is available to the south of the Howlett Building.
The meters accept quarters for up to a 9 hour period.
Better Travel:

Bus Info

Forget the hassle of parking near the Capitol! IGOLD will have buses going to Springfield from strategic locations throughout Illinois. Ride the bus, ride with your friends.

These gun rights organizations and manufacturers are sponsoring the buses to offset your cost: ISRA, CCRA/GSL, PK Firearms of Shelbyville, IL, Springfield Armory, Rock River Arms, Armalite, and DSArms

Click here for information on the bus routes. Need more info now, or want to sponsor a bus? Contact the ISRA Office! On-line sign up is available for most buses.
Apparel: Wear whatever you'd feel comfortable in while you are meeting your representatives, and don't forget you'll also be representing the rest of your fellow Illinois gun owners. Business casual is suggested, dress up if you want. We suggest that you don't wear any camo.
Security: After the tragedy in 2005, there are now metal detectors in the Capitol Building that you will have to pass through on your way in, so please think ahead for this: no knives, novelty ammo keyfobs, etc. Bring proper identification.
Who: You, of course! ...and bring a friend.

ISRA Alert - State Ammo Ban

ISRA Alert:
AMMUNITION BAN BILLS ON THE MOVE IN ILLINOIS GENERAL ASSEMBLY

A pair of ammunition ban bills are up for hearing in the House Executive Committee this week. If enacted, either of these bills would effectively ban the purchase of ammunition in Illinois. The bills in question are HB 4269 sponsored by Rep. Monique Davis (D-Chicago), and HB 4349 sponsored by Rep. Naomi Jakobsson (D-Champaign).

Here is what passage of either of these bills would mean to you:

1. Ammunition manufacturers would be required to imprint a secret code on cartridge casings so that the purchaser of the ammunition could be identified.

2. When you purchase ammunition, that secret code would be registered to your name.

3. All your ammunition purchases would be registered with the Illinois State Police.

4. You would be responsible for all eternity for ammunition registered to you.

5. It would be in your best interest to destroy all expended ammunition casings because an unaccounted for empty casing could be used to frame you for a crime you did not commit.

6. You would have to surrender all unregistered ammunition you now own to the Illinois State Police.

7. Reloading would be banned.

8. The Illinois Department of Revenue would be authorized to place a tax on ammunition and raise that tax any time for any reason.

9. Taxes and increased manufacturing costs would raise the price of a box of .45 ammo to $200 or more.

10. Gun ownership would become too costly for most people.

WHAT YOU MUST DO TO HELP SAVE YOUR GUN RIGHTS:

1. Call Rep. Monique Davis’ office at (217) 782-0010 and POLITELY tell the person that answers that you are a law-abiding gun owner and you would oppose Rep. Davis’ attempt to ban ammunition.

2. Call Rep. Naomi Jakobsson’s offce at (217) 558-1009 and POLITELY tell the person that answers that you are a law-abiding gun owner and you would oppose Rep. Jakobsson’s attempt to ban ammunition.

3. Call each of the following members of the House Executive Committee and POLITELY tell whoever answers the phone that you OPPOSE HB4269 and HB4349 and that you would like them to vote against those bills in the Executive Committee. Remember, you represent the gun owners of this state, so BE POLITE:

Rep. Dan Burke (D-Chicago)  (217) 782-1117
Rep Joseph Lyons (D-Chicago)  (217) 782-8400
Rep. Dan Brady (R-Bloomington)  (217) 782-1118
Rep. Eddie Acevedo (D-Chicago)  (217) 782-2855
Rep. Maria Antonia Berrios (D-Chicago)  (217) 558-1032
Rep. Bob Biggins (R-Elmhurst)  (217) 782-6578
Rep Michael Bradley (D-Chicago)  (217) 782-8117
Rep. Brent Hassert (R-Romeoville)  (217) 782-4179
Rep. Jim Meyer (R-Naperville)  (217) 782-8028
Rep. Robert Molaro (D-Chicago)  (217) 782-5280
Rep. Bob Rita (D-Crestwood)  (217) 558-1000
Rep. Angelo Saviano (R-River Grove)  (217) 782-3374
Rep. Arthur Turner (D-Chicago)  (217) 782-8116

I am protesting anti-faith attacks

I just signed a Citizen Letter of Protest exposing and confronting the efforts of the ACLU, Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU), and others to intimidate and silence Christians during this election cycle.

Pastors have already received "anonymous" threatening letters warning of possible jail time if they encourage church members to participate in the election. Groups like AU are sending out misleading mailings that serve to intimidate churches into silence.

Please join me in signing the Citizen Letter of Protest by going here:
