However you decide to vote, I'm sure America will be better off if there is a really tremendous turnout by all of you who understand the immigration issues and know where the candidates stand on them. (Check out the stances here.) WHICH STRATEGY FOR IMMIGRATION VOTING TODAY? Those voting in the Democratic Primaries face no significant difference between Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton on immigration issues. But those of you voting in the Republican Primaries are telling me of the following ways you plan to vote:

| HOLD 'McCAIN=AMNESTY' SIGNS OUTSIDE POLLING SITES You will know where the legal line is by where all the other people are standing to hand out literature. Simply click on this (adjust colors and sizes as you wish), print it and hold it up for voters to see as they arrive at the polls. Vote first and then donate 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour of your time to holding the sign to make sure voters are educated about McCain's very clear promise to give amnesty to illegal aliens. Here's the link to the simple sign. You may also want to print out McCain immigration grade cards from www.NumbersUSA.com website -- and other accounts of McCain's immigration actions. IF YOU WANT TO VOTE TO KEEP McCAIN FROM GETTING DELEGATES IN YOUR STATE ... It would seem to be a significant victory if McCain can be stopped from getting any more than 700 of the more than 1,000 delegates at stake today. That (combined with the nearly 100 he already has) would leave him at least 400 short of the 1,191 needed to secure the GOP nomination. A major victory would be to keep him below 600. That would give anti-amnesty forces some time in the remaining Primary states to better educate Republican voters about Sen. McCain's stated commitment to giving amnesty to at least 10 million illegal aliens and to dramatically increasing the importation of foreign workers to compete with American workers. Keeping McCain's wins under 600 -- or even under 700 -- is going to be tough because polls show McCain with overwhelming leads in winner-take-all states of New York (101 delegates), New Jersey (52) and Connecticut (30). This next section is highly controversial because every Republican and Democratic candidate has support among a segment of you getting this email. Please understand that I am making no endorsements here. But what I am doing is showing you what you would do if your top priority today is to keep pro-amnesty McCain from getting delegates. Paul, Huckabee and Romney have all made explicit promises to oppose legalization (amnesty) of illegal aliens and to use an Attrition Through Enforcement policy that drives illegal aliens back to their home countries. Tomorrow, Illinois citizens will have the opportunity to go to the polls in what amounts to the first-ever National Primary involving 22 states.
This vote will be a major referendum on the issue of Amnesty, which has been one of the top issues discussed during the primary season.
In essence, tomorrow's vote is an Amnesty vote, just as important as last summer's defeat of the Senate Amnesty Bill.
Every G.O.P. debate has featured immigration. Every time citizens have had an opportunity to pose questions of the candidates, immigration and amnesty have been at the top of the list.
But all that really matters to the politicians and the pundits is how we vote!
That is why I am encouraging every Grassfire.org team member to take two actions today:

| DEAR OPPONENTS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, Today's polls show John McCain still poised to win a large majority of the delegates on Tuesday ... ... unless the 500,000 of you can reach out to millions of Republican friends, families and acquaintances to correct their incredibly mistaken notion about McCain's immigration positions. The Washington Post/ABC News poll this weekend asked likely Republican voters which candidate, "regardless of who you may support," do you "trust most to handle immigration issues." The answer will shock you: 47% McCain 22% Romney 10% Huckabee 5% Paul This political illiteracy among Republican voters threatens disastrous consequences. Please share this information widely. Some open-borders apologists, such as syndicated columnist Ruben Navarrette, say 47% of Republicans like McCain on immigration because they support McCain's idea that the best way to solve illegal immigration is to make nearly all the illegal aliens into legal residents and U.S. citizens. That is pure wishful thinking on the part of open-borders advocates. Reputable polls for two years have shown that an overhwelming majority of Republicans (and a majority of Independents and Democrats) has opposed every one of McCain's attempts to legalize illegal aliens with an amnesty. I believe that at least half of those 47% Republicans who express confidence in McCain's immigration plans simply don't know the truth. And the truth is exceptionally easy to find out. For two months, McCain answers every immigration question by saying he will "secure the border" and that "I know how to do it." But records of his past actions show that he has repeatedly voted against funding the border fence, against funding more Border Patrol, against expanding interior immigration agents. About the only time McCain has backed more security on the border is when it is tied to giving an amnesty. McCain has held border security hostage for years. He has been willing to work for border security only if Americans pay the "ransom" of giving him an amnesty. But I am willing to accept that McCain is finally serious about securing the border, except that he really hasn't provided a serious, detailed plan for how he will do it. Read McCain's statements in recent interviews to see how terribly the "straight-talker" zig zags to confuse voters about his ultimate plan to grant a gigantic amnesty. McCain laid out his Immigration Plan in radio ads in South Carolina: 1. "Secure the borders." 2. Deport around 2 million illegal aliens who have committed felonies. 3. Treat the other 10-18 million illegal aliens with "compassion" by letting them keep their U.S. residency and their American jobs and eventually become citizens. McCain never expresses compassion for the 23 million working-age Americans without any college who do not currently have a job -- or the millions more Americans whose real wages have stagnated or declined in recent years because their occupations were flooded by foreign labor. Although the nation already has nearly 40 million foreign workers and dependents, McCain has repeatedly said that we need to import even more. During the last two years, he has pushed various bills that would double and triple immigration. Every Republican you know needs to get a copy of this email (and the one I sent Saturday night). The 500,000 of you -- even if every one of you votes (and surely you will if your state is holding a primary) -- are not enough to shift the results of Tuesday's elections unless you multiply your influence by educating at least 10 other voters. We certainly don't want to have to choose between two amnesty favoring liberals in November! The best way to prevent that from happening is to take McCain out of the running now!

But we defied the predictions by massively reacting and blocking the efforts by Sen. McCain and Sen. Kennedy to permanently give American jobs to millions of illegal aliens while enticing millions more to enter! We can do it again. Will you make it happen? (See suggestions below.) Half of you will be able to vote on Tuesday. And the other half of you can try to influence people in the states where the primaries are being held. Because the polls show that most Republicans who have been voting for McCain in the previous primaries are so uninformed that they think he would be TOUGH on illegal immigration. With Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton also pledging full commitment to amnesties, a McCain nomination would mean immigration would be removed as an issue from the fall campaign. If you are a Democrat and likely to vote for Obama or Clinton because of other issues, you will still want to see them moderate their immigration views toward the American majority's anti-amnesty position. That Democratic moderation could happen if Clinton or Obama had to compete with an anti-amnesty Republican. But I can't see that happening if they are competing with McCain. If you are a Republican, you will simply want to save your Party from continuing the disastrous immigration policies of the Bush Administration. If you are an Independent, consider voting in the Republican primary to cast your vote against the McCain amnesty. Don't take my word for how bad a McCain victory would be. Look below for the unadulterated facts about McCain's past immigration actions. Can you help rescue America from immigration disaster again on Super Tuesday? The immigration crisis on Tuesday is no less threatening to America than during those intense battles in 2006 and 2007 when we blocked one amnesty after another. A McCain victory would seem to ensure that no matter who wins in November we will have four more years of the same immigration nightmares we've had under Pres. Bush. Democratic voters have had no choice because all their candidates support amnesty. Make a list of up to ten or more friends and family members whom you believe will be interested to know that the leading candidates for both major parties favor amnesty. ISRA-PVF Alert for Cook County
WARNING
COOK COUNTY HUNTERS, SPORTSMEN, GUN OWNERS
The most sweeping gun control laws in the nation will soon be voted on by the Cook County Board. Here is what they will do:
- CLOSE ALL COOK COUNTY GUN SHOPS - Under the ordinance, no gun shop could operate within 1 mile of a school, church, nursing home, or park, and no two shops could be within 15 miles of each other. BOTTOM LINE: All gun shops in Cook County would be ordered to close just after New Years Day.
- BAN MOST GUN OWNERSHIP - Under the ordinance, all Cook County residents would have to register their guns with the Cook County Sheriff . Now read this very carefully: You could only register guns that are currently registered. If you live in unincorporated Cook County, or in towns that do not currently require registration, then you could not register any guns under the new law and you’d have to surrender your guns to the Sheriff. BOTTOM LINE: Only residents of Chicago and a handful of suburbs would be allowed to keep any guns. The majority of Cook County residents would be forced to surrender their guns to the Sheriff.
- IMMEDIATE BAN ON HANDGUNS - Under the ordinance, the only handguns that would be allowed in Cook County would be firearms with a “load indicator.” Therefore, all revolvers would be banned as would most semiautomatic pistols. Also, other language in the ordinance would ban semiautomatic shotguns and rifles.
- NULLIFY LOCAL GUN ORDINANCES - Under the ordinance, home rule authority over firearms would be eliminated with the County Board being in full control of fi rearm regulations.
BOTTOM LINE: You cannot hide from this ordinance no matter where you live in Cook County.
WHO IS BEHIND THIS GUN GRAB?
Larry Suffredin, Cook County Commissioner, 13th District, is behind these Commissioner foolish ordinances. To put it very bluntly - Suffredin hates people who own guns. He has made gun control his life’s work. He is on the board of the Illinois chapter of Handgun Control and is an antigun lobbyist in Springfield. Suffredin does not believe that anyone should be able to own a gun. Suffredin does not believe that hunting is a valid reason to own a gun - any gun. If you’re a target shooter, Suffredin wants to force you to take up a new hobby. Suffredin does not believe that you have the right to defend your home or family with a gun - he thinks you should call the police and roll the dice to see whether they get there in time. As far as Larry Suffredin is concerned, if you or your family are raped, robbed or murdered, that’s just your tough luck. Larry Suffredin is an enemy of every principle upon which our great nation was founded.

After I heard about this from Grassfire, I sent the following e-mail to the President:

ISRA Alert - Cook County Gun Ban
ISRA Action Alert:
TOTAL COOK COUNTY GUN BAN CLEARS FIRST HURDLE
Rabid gun-grabbers on the Cook County Board came one step closer last week to instituting a total ban on firearm ownership in the county – except for police and military personnel.
Introduced by Commissioner William Beavers, the so-called "Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance" appears on the surface to be some sort of gun registration scheme. However, closer examination reveals that the only people who could comply with the registration requirements would be Chicago residents who had previously registered their guns with the city. Everyone else in Cook County would have to turn in their guns to the police. The ordinance would certainly ban all handguns as the ordinance disallows registration of handguns that do not have a "chamber load" indicator. Few, if any, handguns could comply with this requirement, so they would have to be surrendered to the police.

Please read the little cartoon carefully, it's powerful. Then read the comments at the end, and please -- forward it! We cannot, we must not, ever forget what happened in Europe over 60 years ago, because it could happen again. Anyone, any group, could be the target. It has been said that those who refuse to study history are doomed to repeat it. In this case, those who are attempting to rewrite history are probably planning to repeat it! The hatred is already there, in place, taught to the children from infancy, with promises of glory and honor to those who carry out the plans. Cook County Board Poised to Shut Down Cabela's Superstore
CHICAGO, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA):
Just weeks after its gala grand opening, the Cabela's superstore in Hoffman Estates, IL is facing closure by the Cook County (IL) Board. This impending action stems from a pair of proposed county ordinances prohibiting the retail sale of firearms at a location 15 miles or less from any other federally licensed firearm dealer. The proposals further prohibit retail sale of firearms within one mile of any school, church, place of worship, nursing home, homeless shelter, public housing, or military installation. With respect to these restrictions, Cabela's Hoffman Estates store loses on all counts - as does every other federally-licensed gun dealer in Cook County.
"This proposal is an election year stunt instigated by Cook County Commissioner, Larry Suffredin," said ISRA Executive Director, Richard Pearson. "Although this is something that we'd expect to see from a gun-control extremist like Suffredin, I'm surprised to see astute politicians like Commissioners Claypool, Quigley, and Murphy signing on as co-sponsors to this farce."
"Cabela's Hoffman Estates store employs hundreds of Cook County residents and brings in millions of sales tax dollars for the County," continued Pearson. "If Cabela's cannot sell firearms, then there is no Cabela's. If there is no Cabela's, then those retail dollars flee to DuPage, Kane or Will counties. The cash-strapped Cook County treasury really can't afford such a huge hit just because Larry Suffredin doesn't like people who own guns."
"From a practical standpoint, Suffredin's proposal is a non-starter," commented Pearson. "It bears repeating that the Chicago Police Department has determined that 88% of murderers have previous criminal records as do 76% of murder victims. Federally-licensed firearm dealers are not the problem - career criminals are."
"Furthermore", continued Pearson. "When was the last known case where someone walks out the door of a gun shop, in the door of a nursing home, and then proceeds to shoot the place up? The same Chicago Police Department report lists alleyways as being popular places to get murdered. Why then, did Suffredin not specify that no gun shop could be within one mile of an alley? The reason is simple - shock value. Suffredin prefers to play on the plight of our most vulnerable citizens in order to advance his quixotic campaign to disarm hunters and sportsmen. Commonsense is not part of the Suffredin lexicon."
"One insidious side-effect of the Suffredin proposal is that it deeply erodes the home-rule authority of many of the larger communities in Cook County," noted Pearson.
"The Suffredin proposal is expensive, ineffective, divisive and impractical," said Pearson. "I hope that Board President Stroger has the wisdom to immediately reject Suffredin's showboating."

Our Nations Sovereignty Under Attack
I have just signed a national petition opposing the U.N. "Law of the Sea" treaty that if ratified by the Senate would threaten our nation's sovereignty. Additionally, it places the United States under an international authority, subjects our nation to direct taxation by the United Nations and could hamper our military.

Criminals in the Illinois State Police
It appears that we now have criminals working in positions of power at the Illinois State Police. It appears that Illinois State Police Director Larry Trent has been violating Illinois law by denying FOID cards to citizens less than 10 years of age:

Illinois State Police Overstepping Authority by Refusing to Issue FOID Cards to Youthful Applicants
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA):
Controversy has been raging for several weeks over a proposal promulgated by the Illinois State Police that would set the minimum age of issuance for Illinois Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) cards at 10 years of age.
Outdoor sporting organizations, including the ISRA, oppose the adoption of the provision as it would have an adverse impact on gun safety training and youth shooting programs. On the other hand, gun control groups support the new restriction and see it as yet another means of discouraging participation in the shooting sports.
Approval or denial of the proposed regulation is the responsibility of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR). As of the issuance of this press release, only a few days remain in the period during which the public may submit comments to JCAR regarding the proposal. Once the comment period expires, JCAR will consider all comments and will issue a ruling on the proposed age limit some time in the next several months.
Although adoption of such regulations is strictly within the purview of JCAR, an investigation conducted by the ISRA has revealed that Illinois State Police Director Larry Trent unilaterally established a minimum age for FOID applicants and began denying FOID cards to citizens less than 10 years of age as early as May 2007.
"Director Trent has taken it upon himself to nullify the authority of JCAR," commented ISRA Executive Director, Richard Pearson. "Last May, he issued a declaration to the FOID division staff that directed the denial of FOID cards to applicants less than 10 years of age. Since that time, the State Police have used this bogus age limit as justification to deny over 200 applications. Of course, Trent's edict has not stopped the State Police from cashing application fee checks."
"The ISRA is presently consulting with its legal advisors to identify a means of relief from Trent's illegal actions," continued Pearson. "Without a foundation in law, Trent's age restriction places the State Police in violation of Section 5 of the FOID act which requires that FOID cards be issued within 30 days."
